This Day In Sports: Bloomington Resident Recalls the 1967 "Ice Bowl"

Vern Prenzler, my father and a lifelong Bloomington resident, reminded me that he attended the Green Bay Packer & Dallas Cowboy game in Green Bay, Wisconsin 50 years ago today. Vern was 39 years old at the time and was given a single ticket by an in-law. He sat in the south end, where the winning touchdown was scored by Bart Starr with sixteen seconds left in the game!

Bloomington City Council Holds Special Session to Address Welcoming City Ordinance

Approximately 200 residents gathered at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts on Monday to share opinions on the Welcoming City Ordinance. Bloomington Police Chief Brendan Heffner gave his official position against the ordinance after a search of BPD records revealed no instances of the city's assistance with any deportations. The search included records dated as far back as 2002.
