In 1975 he joined his father, Bill, and uncle Al at a Honda dealership. “Honda was looking for dealers and we made the right choice. We got 15-20 cars a month and a Civic Hatchback was selling for about $1,995,” Owner and President Brad Barker said.

Clay Dooley started his auto business, Clay Dooley Tire and Auto Service, in July 1917. In 1965, he incorporated the business and several employees owned a percentage of the company. Later, Vernon Trower would gain 100% ownership after Clay Dooley died in 1968. Today, Vernon’s sons, Brian, David, and Steve, and his daughter Ruth all work at the business and share joint ownership.

Destihl Brings Big City Brewing to Central Illinois

Almost a year after opening its new Brewery and Beer Hall in Normal, all systems are go for Destihl to ramp up production in 2018.In its current configuration the brewhouse can produce over 100,000 barrels of brews each year. With 37,000 square feet of production space, Destihl has room to increase capacity well beyond 120,000 barrels a year as the company continues to grow.
