The City of Bloomington has narrowed its city manager search down to three candidates, including Interim City Manager Steve Rasmussen.

Washington, Illinois City Administrator Jim Culotta, and Decatur City Manager Tim Gleason are also finalists for the job, the City announced Tuesday afternoon.

A national search beginning in February garnered 31 applicants from 15 states for the position.

The City hired Rasmussen as assistant city manager in 2014; he took over as interim city manager in November following David Hales’ exit.

What’s Next: As part of the final selection process, the City will hold a public meet and greet with the finalists from 5-7 p.m. June 5 at City Hall, 109 E. Olive St.

The finalists will also interview with a group of City staff and the City council before a new city manager is chosen.
