Modern Healthcare named Normal’s Advocate BroMenn Medical Center among its list of 2018 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

The healthcare news source will announce its ranked list of workplaces September 27, with a special supplement planned for the October issue of its print magazine.

BroMenn is the only Illinois hospital chosen for this year’s recognition.

The award program partners with the Best Companies Group to assess healthcare employers nationwide with an extensive employee survey.

“Whether on the frontline or in the top office, healthcare employees witness moments that can either inspire or dishearten them,” Modern Healthcare Editor Aurora Aguilar said in a statement Thursday. “That can take a toll on an individual and healthcare organizations must take extra steps to ensure that highs and lows during the workday don’t impact engagement or performance. This year’s best places to work...exemplify what it takes to maintain dedication and satisfaction among its employees and that is the key to good patient care.”

The Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council ranks BroMenn as the twin cities’ fifth largest employer at 1,402 employees. The hospital is part of Advocate Aurora Health, the largest healthcare services provider in Illinois and the 10th largest in the nation.
