The Town of Normal snow parking ban, issued 5:00 p.m. February 5, will end at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The Town extended the ban, originally set to end at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, to allow snow plow crews to finish clearing residential streets after a round of nighttime snowfall Monday, said Normal Public Works Director Wayne Aldrich.

“Our services aren’t predicting over 2 inches of snow at this point so it’s likely we won’t be in the residential streets [Tuesday] evening,” Aldrich said.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday for portions of Central and West Central Illinois including Bloomington-Normal.

The forecast office expects areas from Canton to Bloomington and northward will receive the heaviest snowfall, from 2-3 inches.
