Over 4,000 Bloomington-Normal residents were without power Wednesday morning.
The cause of the downed power line is unknown
- A downed power line caused multiple outages in Bloomington and Normal around 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Ameren Illinois spokesperson Kelly Hendrickson said. Ameren has yet to determine the cause of the downed power line.
Hendrickson estimated power would be restored for all customers affected by the outage by noon Wednesday, though some Bloomington outages were estimated for repair around 2:00 p.m., according to Ameren’s online Outage Map.
- The National Weather Service in Lincoln reported Wednesday’s high at 10 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills between 0 and -7 degrees.
